Photoshop Elements Course
Course Description
Our Photoshop Elements™ Course is intended to teach students easy to understand methods of "editing, fixing and improving" their photographs. Most of topics discussed in this course are based on techniques we use to retouch and edit our own photographs at the studio. Our instructors use Photoshop Elements 9™ during lectures and demonstrations, students do not need to have the same version of Photoshop™ as the instructors. However, students should keep in mind some features may not be in older versions of Photoshop Elements™. Likewise, some tools may be located in different menus within Photoshop Elements™.
Class Topics Include
- Learning your way around the Photoshop Elements™ user interface (menus).
- Learning your way around the tools.
- Methods for adjusting color and contrast.
- How to remove red-eye, blemishes, scars, stray hairs, etc.
- Fixing closed eyes, bad smiles, etc. by moving body parts from one photograph to another.
- Working with layers.
- Adjustments to help correct under and over exposure.
- Creating collages from multiple photographs.
- Students will work on a project and bring it to class for review and questions most weeks.
- More.

Any version of Photoshop Elements™ is helpful. If you would like to take this course without access to Photoshop Elements™ contact us before registering for the course.

Class Size
2 - 4 students for small group course (see below for details).
5 - 9 students for large group course (see below for details)
The small and large group versions of this course cover the exact same material and use the same study guide. The small group course is 1 hour per class because we do not need the additional hour with 2 - 5 students as there are fewer questions and fewer students to participate in the hands-on portion of the classes. The large group version of this course is 2 hours per class to allow time for the additional students' questions and hands-on time. Students do not receive any additional information or 1 to 1 time with the instructor in either the small or large group version.
