Adobe Photoshop™ 10 Week Course

Course Description

Our Photoshop™ Course is intended to teach students effective, yet easy to understand methods of "editing, fixing and improving" their photographs. All of these techniques are used to retouch and edit our own photographs at the studio. Our instructors use Photoshop CS 3™ or Photoshop CS 4™ during lectures and demonstrations, students do not need to have the same version of Photoshop™ as the instructors. However, students should keep in mind some features may not be in older or newer versions of Photoshop™. Likewise, some tools may be located in different menus within Photoshop™.

Class Topics Include

• Learning your way around the Photoshop™ user interface (menus).
• Learning your way around the tools.
• Methods for adjusting color and contrast.
• How to remove red-eye, blemishes, scars, stray hairs, etc.
• Fixing closed eyes, bad smiles, etc. by moving body parts from one photograph to another.
• Working with layers.
• Adjustments to help correct under and over exposure.
• Simple monitor calibration without special equipment.
• Creating collages from multiple photographs.
• Much more.

Requirements

None.
Any version of Photoshop™ is helpful. If you would like to take this course without access to Photoshop™ contact us before registering for the course.
A laptop is NOT required. You may bring a laptop however you will not be able to plug it in during class, so please completely charge the batter prior to each class.

Class Size

This course is offered in two formats which cover the exact same curriculum in the same detail. There are only 2 differences between the Large and small format. The first difference is obvious, the number of students: 7 to 9 in the Large Group format and 2 to 4 in the Small Group format. The second difference is the length time for each class. The Large Group format consists of 10 classes each lasting 2 hour and the Small Group format consists of 10 each lasting 1 hour. We can cover the same topics in the same detail in the shorter Small Group format because we have fewer students question and more importantly, the amount of time required to work on student photos in class is significantly shorter.

Large Group 2 hour course 7 - 9 students.

Small Group 1 hour course 2 - 4 students.

Schedule

Group A: Wednesday, April 4th 2012.
Classes will be held once a week on Wednesdays from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.

Group B: Beginning on Tuesday, June 12, 2012
Classes will be held once a week on Wednesdays from 7:15pm to 9:15pm.

Cost
